Velashape

What is Velashape®?

VelaShape® is a unique treatment option that can be used to help remove unwanted cellulite from specific areas of the body. The procedure involves the use of infrared light, radiofrequency energy, deep tissue massage, and suction to help break down cellulite in specific areas of the body, including the buttocks, flanks, thighs, and abdomen. The procedure uses a device that sends different types of energy waves deep into the tissues. When the energy is combined with both suction and massage, the cellulite is systematically broken down and eliminated from the body. The procedure is non-invasive and offers very few side effects.

What are the Benefits of a VelaShape® Procedure?

The VelaShape® procedure offers many benefits. The entire procedure takes only three sessions and produces minimal side effects. In some cases, only one treatment is needed. The device used during the procedure gradually smooths the skin by reducing cellulite. With the use of both radiofrequency waves and infrared light energy, heat is produced on a cellular level that helps to stimulate the growth of new collagen and elastin which results in a reduction of skin laxity, body volume and an overall improvement in the skin structure and texture. Velashape has also been approved by the FDA for the treatment of cellulite.

Does VelaShape® Produce Side Effects?

The VelaShape® procedure is non-invasive so causes minimal side effects. The creation of heat deep within the tissues, however, may result in the surface of the skin becoming warm and tender to the touch during the procedure. The excessive heat may also result in mild swelling and inflammation during the treatment site. The manipulation of the soft tissues by the vacuum effect and the heat that is produced through the energy waves that are directed into the body may result in tenderness throughout the treatment area, as well as slight discomfort.
